A truly horrific experience. Several items were damaged, some slightly, some significantly. When damage was raised there was no apology just a suggestion that it wasn't damaged (even though the person that delivered it in Portugal even marked the item as being damaged). I was assured items would be wrapped in blankets that were not and subsequently ended up very scratched. On top of all of this they lost items of significant value. The person delivering the items put the whole load into storage and then presented me with paperwork to check that everything was there.. I said to him he'd need to take it out of storage for me to check it, which he refused and so I was left with no choice to sign papers saying everything was present when it was not. Emailing them about this was fruitless and they took no responsibility for the lost items despite having upsold me insurance.

Arrogant and rude correspondence refusing to acknowledge I was unable to check the goods when delivered (which now seems like a technique to stop people noting lost of damaged items). Check other reviews and you'll see this is not a company you want to trust with your move!

Damaged items, Lost items, terrible service. Everything you don't want to happen when moving house. Avoid these charlatans.

I have to say, I am half way through relocating my fourth lot of stuff from England, in the direction of Tarn France. On each occasion I have asked Movers International; the company have delivered professionalism, expertise, efficiency, and extreme codiality throughout. On each occasion, Movers have kept me updated with arrival time both when collecting in the UK, and also when delivering in France; they have always exercised extreme care when handling items, whether fragile or otherwise, and I can say that all things sent arrived in the condition they left. I feel this is due to their skill and expertise in packing, storage and handling of personal effects. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They are flexible, relaxed, and able to make a big move a memorable and enjoyable experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Movers International to anyone thinking of moving internationally.

We have had to resort to writing a negative review as communication with the company about damages to our move to Spain did not offer any satisfaction. We arranged for Movers International to move part of our furniture which included glass and porcelain. They arrived to collect the goods and were very careful with our items, although we had packed the boxes that were to be taken to Spain. We originally arranged for delivery before Xmas but were asked by the company could it be left until January and we accommodated them by agreeing to this! On receipt of our goods there were two boxes containing crystal glass and porcelain which when opened was found to have the crystal in pieces and one piece of antique porcelain broken. On contacting the company and sending photos of a few of the broken items we communicated to get some satisfaction. However, we were assured that nobody would have 'thrown' the boxes in any way and they would check with the people at the other end in Alicante. However, no blame was accepted saying that because we had packed the boxes ourselves there was 'probably' movement. Now you have to ask yourself a question..the movers were asked if anything untoward happened to our boxes.. obviously they are going to say 'NO' We found this unacceptable so asked about insurance. On the original request for moving our goods we were asked if we wanted insurance and ticked to say £5K please assuming that the final bill included the insurance.. have to say we did not realise that thinking that the original 'ask' about insurance was adhered to but on checking the receipt of payment once all this came to light no insurance was added. We checked the website for this company, no mention of insurance at all which is something as a reputable company would advise and is totally misleading. Maybe, when they quote people tend to think they are insured but we were informed that you take your own insurance. All a bit confusing and would suggest the anomalies are there on purpose! We are left feeling very let down by this company and write this to suggest to any further customers of Movers International to take out insurance and don't be caught out like we were. We would add that we have moved from UK to France and back in the past, did the same with a different removal company in that we packed our own boxes and never had one breakage. We have lost our beloved treasured and sentimental items through a lack of care by this company, something we will never forget.

My move was completed on the 27.11.19 to Clape, Alicante me and my husband were so happy to receive the service we received from Movers International from the quotation provided to the packing and moving service which to everyone involved made our big move run so smoothly, we were updated at all times and the communication with the guys who were on their way even to the last half an hour before delivery. Everything came the way it went on the truck we were so nervous being our first move abroad but Movers made it seem so effortless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. The office staff are terrible. We had terrible communication the whole time which ended up with a phone call the day the stuff was supposed to arrive (after three months) saying if we didn’t pay more they wouldn’t deliver our stuff. I instigated all the emails looking for updates. I email 3 weeks before the goods were supposed to arrive asking if there is anything we can do to ensure the goods arrive with no response. I had a total of six emails with no reply. I had to start cc’ing in all the staff I could find on the web to get a response. Derek was terrible at communicating, rude and unprofessional. The blokes on the ground packing our stuff were amazing. But Derek was awful and I suspect not entirely truthful. His only job is communication and he can’t do that to save himself. We didn’t get the service we wanted, I had to contact all the international contractors myself and getting any information out of Derek was like getting blood out of a stone. Basically, I did his job for him. Absolutely avoid if possible.

They are a friendly bunch and efficient in getting back to you BUT Beware
I think the efficiency means there is more emphasis on packing quickly and tightly than packing carefully. This was my 7th move and I have never seen so much damage, including to paintwork at both ends. It is all minor which actually makes it worse as difficult to make an insurance claim..
They also didn't reconstruct my furniture and as I'm a woman on my own putting the bed together was problematic!
They did give me a £200 discount but that was for being 24hrs late !! If they had informed me in advance I could have reorganised my schedule, but being told 45min after the truck was due that they were 8hrs away was not helpful.

I’m sorry to say I was not impressed at all with Movers International and their attitude to customer service. We made a large move from the UK to Spain, which included almost a year of storage of our items with them. The end result, I accept, was that the items were packed and delivered, but come on! This is like saying that I bought a car and when I turn the key it starts!

I’m disappointed with everything that happened around this move: The packers acted as if their job was to put items in boxes and leave boxes at the door of our 4th floor apartment. Want items to be taken up to the 4th floor? Want help to build furniture? Want empty boxes to be picked up? Want the delivery to take place on dates that suit you? Everyone of these services has a fee attached to them. The worst of all these examples is that we were told our delivery had to be made in two days and no more (due to their scheduling) and the only way this could be achieved was by me hiring a crane at my expense to make this schedule possible. There was was no other way they would finish the job in the two days they allowed for us.

I would not be writing this review if I did not have a point of reference. I have had an expatriate career and with that, have made approximately 10 international moves. Our items have been moved to the UK, Poland, Portugal, the US, Canada, various countries in Latin America, and finally now to Spain. I can say with no hesitation that of all these moves, this has been the worst we have experienced.
